Here are the rules any guidelines for the Dominion Credit Union photography contest.  

  1. Photos must fit within either of the 3 categories: Dominion Scenery, Dominion People, Animals within Dominion.
  2. Only photos taken within Dominion will be accepted
  3. Photos should be horizontal (width long) to be able to fit into a calendar without significant cropping. 
  4. Contest is only open to members of Dominion Credit Union. Staff and immediate family residents are not eligible to enter. 
  5. There is no age limit. 
  6. Any identifiable people depicted in the picture have given their permission for the photo to be submitted to, and used by Dominion Credit Union and Seaside Daze. 
  7. Entrants must fill out an entry form for each submission.
  8. If delivering the photos in person to the Dominion Credit union, entrants must clearly print your name on the back of each photograph and all photos must be in an envelope marked “Calendar photo contest”
  9. It is important that entrants are able to provide a high-resolution version of each image that they submit (uncompressed TIFF or maximum quality JPEG, Grayscale or Colour (RGB), 300 dpi, minimum 1600 pixels on the longest side, and a minimum final print size of 8″ x 10”). If any of your images are selected as a winning entry, the high-resolution version, as outlined previously, will be required for reproduction in the Dominion Calendar. Failing to provide a high-resolution version, if required, could compromise your win. 
  10. Entrants may upload up to 10 photos to the contest at a cost of $5 per participant. The entry fee must be paid in advance of being granted access to upload photos to the contest. Photos must be uploaded to their appropriate contest category, judges reserve the right to place the entry in an appropriate category or remove a photo completely from the contest should the photo be deemed inappropriate in general or not suitable for the category to which it was submitted.
  11. Dominion Credit Union and Seaside Daze reserves the non-exclusive right to publish any entry and/or use any entry in promotional material. Model releases are the responsibility of the entrant and must be available in the event the photo is a winner. The top twelve photos will be used in the Dominion Credit Union Calendar the will be distributed in 2010. All photos will be credited to the photographer.
  12. Deadline for entry is July 24th, 2009
  13. The winners will be announced during the last splash, prior to the fireworks during the Seaside Daze festival.
